Cajun Guitar & Song - Christine Balfa is one of Cajun music’s most talented and revered vocalists and guitar players. She began playing music as a teenager with her father, Dewey Balfa, and has continued her family legacy in a major way. She plays the guitar in the rhythmic style of her uncle Rodney Balfa and sings with so much emotion that it is not uncommon to see her eyes mist over when she sings a powerful, sad Jesse Lege waltz. She’ll be teaching twice this weekend so you can experience and learn about her special Cajun Guitar and Vocal styles. Adv. Beg- Adv.
Beginning Cajun Guitar & Song - Megan Brown teaches the sounds of Cajun music that she learned at her grandparent’s restaurant in Louisiana, and how to sing in Frenchwhile playing Cajun guitar, Saturday at 2:30PM. Beginners welcome.
Cajun Creole Fiddle and Accordion - Ed Poullard is known for being one of the few Creole fiddlers still carrying on in the tradition of the late Canray Fontenot, and Bebe Carriere, and only Creole accordion Builder. Fiddle on Saturday at 12, Sunday at 1PM, and Accordion on Sunday at 12.
Cajun and Zydeco Dancing Dance Hints - Jeremy and Laura Rice teach Cajun and Zydeco dance with live bands, Saturday at 2 at Sunday at 5PM. Free
